Biography
I was born and grew up in Frederick County. My parents were both public school teachers with Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS), and I got my education here too.
After highschool, I attended Penn State to study Film and Communications, and enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve as a LAV Crewman, and attended monthly training at Fort Detrick.
During my time as a Videographer and Editor at Penn State, I was awarded two Emmys for excellence in broadcast sports programming. During my time as a LAV Crewman, I achieved the rank of Corporal and led junior Marines.
My career as a communicator taught me the value of clear, and accesable information, and I will bring this experience to bear on our inscrutable county council process.
My career in the Marine Corps honed my diligence, and my execution of detailed tasks. These qualities will be essential to me while dealing with the myriad issues the County Council faces.
I am running for office because I am dissapointed in the attitude that several of the county council members displayed during public hearings. I am running for office because several of the county council members have ignored the will of the people. I was deeply moved by the extensive testimony from county residents, and deeply concerned with the response from the county council.
