Public Safety
I will represent all the residents of Frederick County, and noticeably improve their lives.
I will increse citizen oversight of the police, increase our access to health care, improve our emergency services, and improve our public infrastructure.
It’s important for our elected officials to have open communications with police, and to have open conversations about public safety. Civilian oversight of police actions is key in maintaining the safety of our residents, and to utilize and icrease health responses in place of police response when it would be more appropriate and beneficial to our communities.
Building and maintaining safe bike paths, and pedestrian walkways around the county will keep our residents safe. Introducing more transit, and improving the counties walk-ability and bike-ablity, will reduce our reliance on cars and reduce car related deaths and injuries.
Building and improving our public schools is a paramount of public safety. I will fight to build and retrofit all of our frederick county public schools so that our next generation is healthy and safe in their schools. I will work with our many health care providers in this county to provide 24/7 access to urgent care services in all our communities, and to create public transit to serve our communities. Building affordable housing near medical facilities, and providing transportation to healthcare for our neighbors is the responsibility of the county government. Poverty increases crime, and decreasing poverty decreases crime. Making our county more affordable will make our county safer.
